Video Selections: Christina Ricci Ed.

“There just haven’t been many buddy movies that have my premise of a black bluesman trying to chase the demons out of a white sex addict.” (earlier) Director Craig Brewer be-moaned (ha!) the fact that that the release of his film was pushed back 6 months due to marketing concerns, but the publicity campaign has certainly found its well-tread groove. With Black Snake Friday upon us, here’s one more slice of that promised, cup-overflowing sexuality: A scene with Miss Ricci justifing her love with J. Timberlake. “No outright nudity” says JoBlo, but there’s plenty there/not there to make this not-safe-for-work.

— And then there’s Penelope, a modern day fairy tale starring a cursed, pig-snouted Ricci, along with Reese Witherspoon, and James McAvoy. Trailer.

— Zodiac opens today, already with early-Oscar predictions placed at the feet of director David Fincher for corralling the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., Chloë!, and Mark Ruffalo.
